Situated just North of Kootenai Cutoff Road on Highway 95, Ponderay Garden Center, North Idaho’s award winning nursery, is emerging as an example of what can happen when agricultural space meets city expansion and when vision is combined with a sense of community. Rather than plowing the beautiful family farm under to make way for a strip mall, Ponderay Garden Center has taken all the existing buildings of the 9 acre property and converted them into 6 different retail buildings. Ranging in size from 100 sq. ft. to 1,000 sq. ft. each has its own theme and décor.
We reconverted the original old red barn into our primary building, and have made it mostly gift shop oriented.
This structure used to be the old equipment shed. Just as if it were a big Home Show booth, it is landscaped as if it were outside.
This is a new retail building dedicated exclusively to water features, ponds and fountains for your home or business. It has watery walls and flowing fountains that create a truly Zen experience.
It was the old milking shed and is now dedicated to birding supplies. It has an epoxy floor filled with actual bird seed so your strolling experience is on sealed birdseed, cool to the touch.
This building is now filled with a full line of organic seeds, organic fertilizers, and organic chemicals. With burlap panels on the ceiling and old barn lights for lighting, the ambience alone will inspire you to go organic!
This structure will delight you with our displays of Solar Yard art shining in all their glory. These buildings combine to offer the area’s most comprehensive selection of nursery-quality plant, tree, and shrub stock available all augmented with an incredible selection of garden art, fountains, and accessories needed for our clients’ success. Additionally, we carry the area’s largest selection of bulk rocks, soils, composts, and barks in the area combined with a full selection of landscaping flagstones, patio and driveway pavers, and retaining wall products.
